How long have you been volunteering and what do you do here?

I’ve been here almost two years. I help Stella at the front desk and some of the office staff with administration and clerical work, like mailouts.

What’s your favourite thing about volunteering?

I really like how flexible the job is if I need to change my schedule.   I also like the warm camaraderie of the office. They make me feel very welcome here. After working in the office, I really appreciate the work that the staff do.  They are very caring and have a lot of expertise in their roles.

What’s your favourite thing about the local neighbourhood?

My favourite thing is how tolerant we all are.  There is such a variety of skills and the neighbours are really helpful and look after each other.

What’s your favourite local place to dine out?

I love cooking so I really don’t eat out much. If I go out, I like the restaurant at the Hunters Hill Bowling Club.

Who is your favourite sporting team and other hobbies?

I like watching English soccer, particularly Chelsea (great colours on the shirt!). I also enjoy walking. I used to sing soprano in a choir and may join another choir soon.

Where would you like to travel?

I am lucky enough to have travelled around the world four times with my husband. I would love to do that again on a cruise.

Do you have a favourite quote to share or words of wisdom?

My husband used to say, “If you do the right thing, you’ve got nothing to worry about.” He was gentle and kind to everyone.

What languages do you speak?

English and a little Polish.

Thank you Barbara!
