How long have you been volunteering and what do you do here?

I am currently a Community Visitor for Sydney Community Services. I started volunteering here in 2003. I have volunteered at the Community Café, Tea & Tunes and on bus trips in the past. As a retired health professional (Nurse Midwifery Educator at St Margaret’s Hospital)  I also volunteer for the Northern Sydney Local Health Care District at the Royal North Shore Hospital and Macquarie Hospital in their Primary Health Care Advisory Service and I’m also on the Resources Committee, amongst other roles there. I also volunteer to improve the awareness of Prostate cancer.

What’s your favourite thing about volunteering?

I just like to meet and help people and experience different cultures. Maybe it is because I was a nurse that it seems ingrained in me to give something back to the community.
