Sydney Community Services has appointed three new board directors.

Alexandra Meldrum is a professional engineer and economist with broad experience. She has 25 years’ management experience in government, industry, universities, and not-for-profit organisations, working for the likes of Nestle, Shell, Lifeline, AGSM UNSW, Department of Industry and NSW Treasury.

Alexandra brings expertise in strategy, transformation, change management, project management, risk and sustainability. She has taught in business schools at universities for 15 years and has also been a Lifeline volunteer and domestic violence counsellor.

Dr Carl Wong is a familiar face in Lane Cove, where the head office of Sydney Community Services is based. Carl graduated as a pharmacist and then became a doctor, now working as a GP in Lane Cove. He has lived locally with his wife for 13 years.

Mark A. Bennett is also well-known to Lane Cove and surrounds having been a Councillor in Hunters Hill for eight years and as its Mayor from 2017 to 2020. For many years he was the Director of a large international engineering company while his wife Lydia was the first Professor of Urban Health at Sydney University.

The Sydney Community Services board continues to be chaired by John Devine.
