Aged Care Services with Sydney Community Services

Growing older doesn’t mean stepping back from life. It means continuing to live with confidence, dignity, and connection — in the home and community you know and love.

At Sydney Community Services (SCS), we support older people to live safely and independently at home for as long as possible, while staying connected to their local community. Our work is grounded in respect, care, and the belief that ageing should be supported, celebrated, and lived well.

Putting People First

Everyone’s ageing journey is different. That’s why our approach starts with listening — to your goals, your preferences, and what matters most to you.

Whether you need a little help around the house, nutritious meals delivered to your door, clinical or personal care, or opportunities to socialise and stay active, our team works alongside you to make everyday life easier and more enjoyable. Many of our services are low-cost or government funded, making quality support accessible when it’s needed most.

Staying Connected to Community

Independence is about more than daily tasks — it’s also about belonging.

Through social groups, outings, wellness activities, and community hubs across Lane Cove, Hunters Hill–Ryde, and the Meeting House, we help seniors stay socially connected, engaged, and confident to participate in community life. For carers, we offer understanding, respite, and practical support. For volunteers, we provide meaningful opportunities to give back and strengthen local connections.

A Strong Local Partnership

A Strong Local Partnership

What makes this work possible is strong local support.

We are deeply grateful for the ongoing partnership and support of Lane Cove Council, as well as funding through grants, support from neighbouring councils, and the dedication of our volunteers. Together, we help deliver Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) services that allow older residents to age in place, remain independent, and stay socially connected.

This partnership plays a vital role in building an age-friendly Lane Cove — supporting Council’s vision for a liveable, inclusive community where older people are respected, valued, and supported.

Working Together for an Age-Friendly Future

With a growing ageing population and a strong preference among seniors to remain at home, early and preventative support services are more important than ever. Local, community-based care helps reduce hospital admissions, prevent falls, and ease pressure on families and carers — benefiting the whole community.

Sydney Community Services is proud to work alongside Lane Cove Council to deliver practical solutions that align with long-term strategic goals and create positive outcomes for older residents.

Local Support. Trusted Care. Stronger Communities.

Whether you are seeking support, caring for a loved one, or looking to give back through volunteering, we’re here for you — every step of the way.
