Seniors Hub Activities Bilingual Volunteer

We are seeking bilingual volunteers who would like to support older individuals to stay connected, active and engaged in the community. 

Our fortnightly or monthly services provide opportunities for older individuals to engage in familiar language and traditions, reducing isolation and enhancing their sense of belonging. By supporting access to information and services in culturally appropriate ways, CALD programs help seniors stay active, informed and connected within their communities.

Languages preferred: Cantonese/ Mandarin, Farsi, Italian.

Days: Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays (fortnightly or monthly)

Time: 9.00am – 4.30pm

We are seeking a positive and bubbly volunteer who would like to support older individuals to stay connected and engaged in the community.

Our weekly day trips provide opportunities for older individuals to explore new places while building friendships, reducing loneliness and supporting mental and physical wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Assist with preparation and packing away morning tea materials
  • Assist facilitating day trip activities
  • Support older individuals to participate and engage in the group and activities

Days: Tuesdays

Time: 9.00am – 4.30pm

We are seeking a friendly and enthusiastic volunteer to support our adult disabilities art group and help create a fun, welcoming and creative environment.

This role involves assisting with a variety of art projects, interacting with participants, and supporting the Art Activity Coordinator to ensure sessions run smoothly.

Location: 184A Pittwater Rd, Gladesville

Times: Weekly on Thursdays, 9.30am – 12.30pm and/ or 1.00pm – 4.00pm

We’re Looking for a Mahjong Volunteer!

Do you enjoy connecting with people and being part of a welcoming community? We’re seeking a friendly volunteer to help our seniors’ Mahjong class run smoothly every fortnight.

You’ll assist with:

  • Setting up for a group of 20–30 participants
  • Preparing and serving afternoon tea
  • Tidying up at the end of the session

It’s a simple but meaningful way to support local seniors and keep a much‑loved activity going.

When: Fortnightly Wednesdays
Time: 2pm – 4pm

Where: Sydney Community Services, 1 Pottery Lane, Lane Cove

We’re looking for a friendly volunteer to assist elderly individuals with their weekly Woolworths online grocery shop.

The role involves calling on Thursday mornings, taking their grocery order over the phone, and placing the order online on their behalf.
