Hardship Assistance Program – We’re Here When You Need Support

Everyone faces tough times now and then—and it’s okay to ask for help.

The Hardship Assistance Program is here to support individuals and families experiencing an immediate crisis or short-term hardship. Whether it’s due to unexpected expenses, financial strain, or a personal emergency, this program offers practical assistance to help you stay safe, supported, and maintain your dignity during challenging moments.

While Hardship Assistance is not an ongoing income support payment, it is designed to provide one-off, meaningful support when it’s needed most. Help is available in the form of:

  • Food banks – stocked with essential dry goods, canned items, and household staples
  • Utility vouchers – to assist with electricity or gas bills and help prevent service disconnections

Asking for help is a sign of strength—not weakness. If you’re facing a difficult time, don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to help you get back on your feet.
