Sydney Community Services is a local not-for-profit organisation that helps residents to live a quality and independent life in their own home and in their community.
Local Support for Local People during Covid-19
In this challenging time of health restrictions, SCS is focused on essentials to keep people well, and informed and connected even in physical isolation. Our essential services are in-home nursing, home-delivered meals and general support for very isolated people who have no family or neighbours nearby to help them.
If you are isolated in this way and feeling vulnerable, please phone us on 9427 6425 and we will do our best to support you.
With help from our marvellous volunteers, we are also coordinating in-home podiatry services, delivering fresh linen, doing online shopping, plus some gardening and home modifications and maintenance work. All services excepting home nursing are now completely contactless, and our nurses wear protective personal equipment and are highly trained in infection control.
We have had to cancel physical social events and our Seniors’ Hub day program because of the virus. Some of our social events for people with a disability have moved successfully to Zoom, a virtual meeting platform. We look forward inviting everyone back to social events in person.
