Sydney Community Services (SCS) has been part of the local community for many decades in one form or another.

The current organisation has been proudly supporting the local community since 1 July 2017. Formed through the merger of two long-standing organisations – Lane Cove and North Side Community Services (1961–2017), and Hunters Hill Ryde Community Services (1966–2017) – SCS brings years of experience in delivering community care across Northern Sydney.

In January 2021, The Meeting House in Lane Cove North, well-regarded for its children’s, family, and seniors’ programs, also joined SCS, further strengthening our reach and impact.

Today, we operate from three welcoming community hubs:

  1. Lane Cove Hub – 1 Pottery Lane, Lane Cove
  2. The Meeting House Hub – 23a Stokes Street, Lane Cove North
  3. Hunters Hill–Ryde Hub – 46 Gladesville Road, Hunters Hill

SCS supports several thousand consumers each year across the Lane Cove, Hunters Hill, Ryde and Willoughby local government areas. We focus on key areas including aged care, disability support, and targeted early intervention services.

We aim to enhance wellbeing and quality of life for people of all ages by offering inclusive, holistic services that promote independence, confidence, connection and community participation. Whether it’s through social groups, practical support or health and wellness programs, we’re here to make life better for everyone in our local community.
