Join our team as a Registered Nurse, Continence Advisory

The Role

Sydney Community Services provides specialised episodic support in continence advisory services to frail, older people living at home, their families, and carers to manage their specialised needs.  Services are delivered at home in the Lane Cove, Willoughby, North Sydney, Hunters Hill and Ryde areas with our main aim to keep people living at home for as long as possible.

DAY-TO-DAY ACTIVITIES

  • Carrying out comprehensive clinical continence assessments
  • Continence care planning and treatment
  • Liaison with allied health
  • Providing continence product advice for consumers
  • Assisting with CAPS claiming complete section – Instructions for Health Professional.

WHAT IS REQUIRED

  • Minimum Qualification requirement Registered Nurse (Division 1), with current AHPRA registration.
  • Post Graduate qualification in Continence.
  • Adaptability, empathy and resourcefulness and be able to live Sydney Community Services’ everyday values of being compassionate, respectful and inclusive

About the Role

Our Home Delivered Meals program is run by our committed team of staff and volunteers, and offers low-cost meals delivered to the homes of members of the community who require assistance and support.

This position is responsible for overseeing the food service operations. Additionally, this role requires the coordination of a team of volunteers and staff, management of suppliers and food service compliance, to ensure an effective and efficient service delivery.

Our Food Services Coordinator can make a real difference to the day-to-day lives of seniors and people with a disability, so our ideal candidate will have an enthusiasm for food, strong organisational skills, and a compassionate manner when assisting vulnerable members of the community.

Manage the Food Service Operations

  • Provide food safety supervision over the food service operations.
  • Design menus as required, referring to client feedback as necessary.

Manage the Food Services Team and Coordinate Volunteers

  • Effectively manage the Food Services Assistant as a direct report, providing supervision and feedback as required.
  • Act as a contact person for volunteers who have concerns about a customer’s health or welfare – these issues can then be forwarded to Central Office for follow up.

 Stakeholder Engagement

  • Champion quality food supplies
  • Grow the current client base by facilitating the onboarding of new clients, whilst observing the current capacity requirements.

Skills

Essential

  • Food Handling Safety Certificate (or willing to obtain)
  • Food Safety Supervisor Qualifications (or willing to obtain)
  • Knowledge of Safe Food Handling requirements
  • Knowledge in ordering and maintaining stock
  • Experience and confidence in dealing with customer details with a high degree of confidentiality across the Aged and NDIS service offerings
  • Demonstrated self-management, organisational and time management skills, adept at working autonomously to meet deadlines and tasks efficiently and effectively
  • Excellence in communication skills, both verbal and written, coupled with a proven ability to effectively engage with stakeholders across various levels and ensure clear, concise, and meaningful communication.
  • NSW driver’s licence and comprehensively insured vehicle that you can use for work purposes

 Desirable

  • Previous experience co-ordinating service delivery
  • Previous experience working with, and coordinating volunteers
  • Previous experience designing menus
  • Previous experience using CRM, Microsoft cloud, web, and mobile applications
  • A working knowledge of the community, disability, and volunteer sectors.
