How long have you been volunteering and what do you do here?

I started about 7 years ago in the Meals on Wheels service. I then moved on to the Linen Service, Gardening. Now I volunteer in Social Support with the Boomers group and Social Activities including the Parkview Café and Bus outings.

What’s your favourite thing about volunteering?

I love making clients happy. The best part is when I see the clients’ faces and know that they are enjoying themselves.

What’s your favourite thing about the local neighbourhood?

I like the locals and my family, who also live in the area (Hong’s father Chin and sister Keat also volunteer with Sydney Community Services).

What’s your favourite local eatery?

I like Marukame  Udon in Chatswood and Taipei Chef in Artarmon.

Who is your favourite sporting team?

The Swans, of course.

Where would you like to travel?

Tasmania. I’ve done enough travel overseas.

Do you have a favourite quote to share or words of wisdom?

I always look on the bright side of things. I’ve learned to be happy with what I have, like good health.

What languages do you speak?

English, Mandarin and Malay. I speak about 3 dialects of Chinese.
